Spring Hill High School is now operated by its own company, Spring Hill High School Ltd. The new Director is Lee Baillie; he is also the school’s new proprietor.
The school now operates from 3 sites instead of 4. These are Slade Road, Orchard Road, and Wood End Lane. The sixth form provision has moved to Wood End.
The school has established a Board of Governors, who will share responsibility for holding leaders to account. Members of the Board include: Barbara Scrivens as chair, Lee Baillie and Paul Cornick. The school is looking to recruit more governors.
In June 2018 the school’s Ofsted rating changed from being consistently good to inadequate because the school was found to be noncompliant with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
Since then, we have had an emergency inspection in November 2018, where it was recognised by Her Majesty Inspector (HMI) Catherine Crooks, that the school has taken appropriate measures to address areas of the independent school standards that were not met in the June 2018 inspections. The overall outcome from this inspection is that the school meets all the independent school standards that were checked on that day.
The school has also had two Quality Assurance visits in Autumn 2018. One was commissioned by the Birmingham Local Authority, and the second visit from a member of the Warwickshire commissioning team. Both local authorities were satisfied that the appropriate progress was being made in meeting the independent school standards.
