Spring Hill High School achieves GOLD Quality award for CEIAG (Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance)!
Spring Hill High School, in Erdington, has this week been recognised for its outstanding careers work. The school became only one of a very, very tiny number of institutions that have been awarded Gold Standard straight away for their first accreditation.
The nationally validated Quality Award from ‘Prospects’, the education, employment and skills company, is awarded to schools and education providers who can demonstrate the importance of careers guidance and how the school supports students to make decisions about their life after school.
Spring Hill High School is an Ofsted rated ‘Good’ school, continually working to improve the chances and opportunities of all the students. There is a statutory duty to ‘secure independent careers guidance’ for all students from year 8 onwards and the Government also recommends that all schools should be required to work towards a dedicated CEIAG Award which is nationally validated by Quality in Careers Standard. There are more than 1,100 schools and colleges already voluntarily working towards, or holding, a dedicated CEIAG Quality Award which can contribute to Ofsted inspection success.
